Hi, I'd like to buy BO1 or BO2, but I'm not sure my computers can run them, even if I set lower graphics. What do you think? I guess my computers can run BO1 without problem, but I'm not sure about BO2, will I get lags?

So I purchased BO2 and was very dissapointed in the game. The main thing I hated was the small maps and spawns. I returned the game and I am now thinking about buying BO1 but not sure if many people play it still or not?
So anyone else having this issue? my black ops worked fine on windows 7, I switched to windows 8 today and i get tons of fps drops, anyway to fix this? Well i think this will get alot of people pissed because of the compatability issues.
is there any chance of there having black ops custom zombies, because i cannot find any maps on zombiemodding.com ?

Dear Activision,
I got problems with the game i bought from you.
Call of Duty Black Ops
This game gives me a Fatal Error message in my Console (outside the game) And i got some times a DirectX error but i installed the newest DirectX but this seems nothing to fix.

Thank you for contacting Activision’s Technical Support. I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I will try as best as I can to help you. Could you please attach a diagnostic report generated by your computer so that we can further help you.
1) Click on the Start button > Run. If you are in Windows Vista/7, hit the Windows key+R at the same time. The Windows key is the key with the Windows logo between your left CTRL and left ALT keys.
2) In the box type: dxdiag
3) Click the OK button.
4) DirectX Diagnostic Tool will open, click the Save All Information button at the bottom.
5) Save the dxdiag.txt file to your desktop. NOTE: Skip to step 10 if you are already logged in to your Activision account
6) Login to your account at http://activision.custhelp.com.
7) Click My Stuff and then click Questions.
8) Find your current incident and click on it under the Subject column.
9) Click Update Incident.
10) Under "Attach Additional Documents to Question" you will see a Browse button. Click that and browse your computer for the Dxdiag on your desktop. When you locate the file, double click on it.
11) Once the file appears as attached, you can now enter any additional information about your Incident in the "Results and/or Additional Information" field.
12) Click "Submit Update to Question" to send the Dxdiag. Do not paste the dxdiag into the message field.

DirectX10 and DirectX 11 are not updates to DX 9, they are separate libraries. You still need to keep DirectX9 up to date by running dxsetup.exe from the extracted files.

•You can verify the integrity of the game files in the Steam client. In the Steam client right-click on the game and select properties. Click on the local files tab and click the "Verify integrity of game cache" button. You will need to do this for the single player and multiplayer game executables.
Shut down your background programs using the following procedure:
1. Click on your start button and then go to the RUN option.
2. In the open area type MSCONFIG
3. When the MSCONFIG program comes up click on the tab marked STARTUP

Is there any news about when the update will come?
I guess this is an technical problem from the server side?

Send us a copy of your system information. Go to Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Information. This will bring up the system information tool. Go to the top menu and select file->Save. This will save a file with all of your system information. Save it to your desktop. You can name it sysinfo.nfo. Attach this file to the support incident.

Hello Patrick,
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. There are certain restrictions in Windows Vista/Windows 7 that may prevent files from executing properly. Please ensure that the following are disabled:
1. UAC (User Access Control) http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-user-account-control-uac-th e-easy-way-on-windows-vista/

1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to: C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty black ops\players
2. Locate and delete config.cfg and config_mp.cfg
Next, Verify the File Integrity of your game within Steam:
File Integrity Check:
1. Load Steam
2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
Make sure that all background applications are closed:
1) Click on Start button
2) Click on Run (Windows Key + R)
3) Type in msconfig
4) Click on Startup Tab
5) Click on Disable all
6) Click on Services tab
7) MAKE SURE to Place a checkmark in "Hide All Microsoft Services"
8a.) Click on Disable all
8b.) Place a checkmark and enable PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB if found
9) Click on Apply
10) Click on OK
11) Restart machine
You can reverse the process if this does not solve your problem.
1. Click on Start button
2. Click on Run (Windows Key + R)
3. Type in msconfig
4. Click on Startup Tab
5. Click on Enable all
6. Click on Services tab
7. MAKE SURE to place a checkmark in "Hide All Microsoft Services"
8. Click on Enable all
9. Click on Apply
10. Click on OK
11. Restart machine

Could you also provide us with a DXdiag and MSinfo?
DXdiag:
1) Click on the Start button > Run. (Windows Key + R)
2) In the box type: dxdiag
3) Click the OK button.
4) DirectX Diagnostic Tool will open, click the Save All Information button at the bottom.
5) Save the dxdiag.txt file to your desktop.
SysInfo:
1) Start > Run (Windows Key + R)
2) Type Msconfig and press enter.
3) Click the Tools tab.
4) Find System Information in the list and click on it.
5) Click the Launch button.
6) Once the system info launches, Click File > Save
Please update this incident with further information.
1. Go to http://Activision.custhelp.com
2. Enter your information in the "Returning Users" section. (Your Login is the email address you gave us[all lowercase]. You will need to reset your password the first time you try to log in.)
3. Click on the "My Stuff" link
4. Click on "Questions"
5. Click on the Incident that you'd like to update.
6. Click "Update Question"
7. Add any additional information or attachments.
8. Click "Submit Update to Question"

Still crashes i already have send the DxDiag.txt and the Sysinfo.nfo...
I'm not going to do this twice i know its not a problem of our side (my side) The problem is because of the game (Server side)
Allot of people are complaining about it on the Black Ops forums (Fatal Error) There should be an update this night (tomorrow i dont know)
Hope this will fix it or i'll just go for a refund.

I have notice from your DxDiag your display driver is from 10-16 and there is a updated driver from 10-25. Update your video driver to the 10-25 version and make sure it's being displayed in the DxDiag.
Unfortunately, we cannot handle refunds directly, as our distributors take the product back in bulk from retailers. You will have to return the product to where purchase was made.

O and by the way. Do you really think this update will fix this ******* problem? Get a ******* life fool! Its just this ******* pc version of the game that is so horrible... We all know xbox is more for the gamers and we all know you and Treyach and what Infinityward did IGNORE THE PC SO THEY KNOW WE GOT THERE MONEY! Yeah sure do that but there will be a day where no one of the pc will buy your game and than you will wish you never ignored us. Hope whole Activision will lose there money and i hope they are going down! for always.
